Dancing is Our Life Our passion for dance and our dedication to teaching a younger generation of dancers is part of what sets Velocity Dance Center apart from other dance studios. Our dance studio is lead by teachers who love dance and have spent their lives mastering different dance styles. All our teachers use their dance experience to guide students through the different types of dance we offer. To us, dancing is not just a series of steps that your child will learn. In our dance studio, the art of dance also helps teach students focus, creativity, and discipline, all of which are essential life skills. Dance also improves understanding, consideration, and appreciation of others – both for their differences and similarities. Oklahoma City Dance Studio Welcomes All Abilities Velocity Dance Center takes a gradual approach to teaching dance, ensuring that students build a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced levels. We welcome dancers of all abilities, starting as young as 10 months old. Boppin’ Babies: Offers a class for our youngest dancers starting at 10 months – 4 years old. This curriculum is great for both boys and girls as it focuses on music and movement. Dancers will work on gross motor skills and learn how to participate in a group setting. One parent will participate alongside their dancer in out Boppin’ Babies and Boppin’ Tots classes. Dancers will develop their independence in Boppin’ Kids. Leap ‘N Learn: For our developing dancers ages 3 – 10, the nationally recognized Leap ‘N Learn program introduces ballet basics in a fun and relaxed setting. Certified instructors guide kids through foundational movements, nurturing their love for dance from the start. We love that Leap ‘N Learn builds a solid technical foundation while keeping the kids physical, emotional, and mental development in mind. Dancers love the props and creative movement incorporated into every class. Hippity-Hop and Tap: At age three, little dancers can join our hippity-hop class, an introduction to hip-hop movements. By age five, children can explore tap dance, learning to use their feet as musical instruments. Community: We offer special events and activities to our dance community including pool parties, Chester’s Party Barn, and Cookies with Santa. Many dancers also join our Company beginning at age 5 to build their dance skills while building friendships and community. We offer once-a-week classes through competitive dance opportunities so there is something for everyone.
